E-mail messages can be checked, as long as it’s in HTML format. You can even opt to download them in real time by synchronizing both your e-mail and your iPhone. In a world where everything is fast paced and you don’t really have so much time to sit and surf, the iPhone is one of the best solutions available. iPhone, however, is like an iPod.
You can view your favorite movies, TV shows, and music and store them as your entertainment collection. Yet there’s a big BUT to it. The iPhone is still not yet capable to download media files directly from your Internet browser. You still need to download the files to your PC and then transfer them to your phone.

If you are in for the hassle, then go for it. But I’d say even average 3G phones can save you from that one. Moreover, since you’re downloading them from the Internet, where websites can be so unsecure, your phone is just as vulnerable as your computer to contain viruses, adware, and spyware.
I’m still not sure if you can also run security programs into your phone. But if you want security, go to iTunes Store. They have extensive music collection which you can get for free or at a minimal fee.
I still wish, though, that Apple has been more lenient with regards to its carrier network. I wouldn’t say much about AT&T since I can clearly see their efforts of purchasing state-of-the-art facilities for the most comprehensive network coverage, but being locked in for two years seems too long.
